Esther 8-10
Today I have finished the book of Esther in the Old Testament. The last 3 chapters on the book of Esther speak about how the order to kill all the Jews was reversed and the Jews then were allowed to attack those that had wished to bring them harm. After this was done the Jews held a great feast called Purim where they rested and were joyful. I have learned from these last chapters of Esther is that our God, our Lord and Savior will deliver us from evil and protect us from harm in all things. He will save us from persecution and be strong when we are weak. I also learned that we must be brave, strong and noble to do what is right not only in the eyes of our Lord but also in the eyes of our peers and families.
"Esther again pleaded with king, falling at his feet and weeping. She begged him to put an end to the evil plan of Haman the Agagite, which he had devised against the Jews. Then the king extended the gold scepter to Esther and she arose and stood before him." Esther 8: 3-4 NIV
Job 1-7
Today I started reading the book of Job in the Old Testament. I have read 7 out of 42 chapters in the book of Job. Job faces many hardships in just these first few chapters alone. He loses everything that he holds most dear but his life and his faith in God. I have learned that even in the hard and bad times it is still important to lean on God in everything because cursing him will do nothing but make you miserable. My faith has in God must stand firm for he will deliver us through thick or thin no matter what we are facing in our lives for he walks by our sides everyday of our lives till we see him in Heaven Above.
"At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved hi head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised." In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing." Job 1: 20-22 NIV
