Day 28

Songs of Songs 3-8

Today, I finished up the book of Song of Songs or Song of Solomon. The book of Song of Songs was written by King Solomon. These last six chapters were about friends, the lover and the beloved.

"Who is this that appears like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, majestic as the stars in procession?" Song of Songs 6: 10 NIV

Isaiah 1-4

Today, I started the book of Isaiah in the Old Testament. The book of Isaiah was written by the Prophet
Isaiah. These first four chapters in Isaiah were about judgement, the rebellion of a nation, the Lord's Mountain, Day and Branch.

"In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, 'We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!'" Isaiah 4: 1 NIV

Day 27

Ecclesiastes 5-12

Today, I finished up reading the book of Ecclesiastes. The whole book of Ecclesiastes was written by King Solomon. These last eight chapters of Ecclesiastes are about wisdom, how everything is meaningless, destiny and to obey one's king.

"Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgement. including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14 NIV

Song of Songs 1-2

Today, I started Song of Songs or Song of Solomon. King Solomon is the author of this book. The first two chapters are about the beloved, the lover and friends.

"How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves." Song of Songs 1:15 NIV

Day 26

Proverbs 26-31

Today, I finished up Proverbs.  These last six chapters were written by King Solomon, Agur the Oracle and King Lemuel. These last six chapters were about Solomon's proverbs, the sayings of Agur and King Lemuel. The last chapter holds the Epilogue about a wife of noble character.

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31: 30 NIV

Ecclesiastes 1-4

Today, I started up the book of Ecclesiastes. The book of Ecclesiastes was written by King Solomon, all the way through it. The first four chapters talk about how everything is meaningless, a time for everything under the sun, toil, frustration and more.

"There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and time for peace." Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 NIV

Day 25

Proverbs 16-25

Today,  I continued reading in Proverbs. These ten chapters were written by King Solomon. He wrote about the sayings of the wise and more of his proverbs.

"Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wing and fly off to the sky like an eagle." Proverbs 23: 5 NIV

Day 24

Proverbs 6-15

Today, I read the next ten chapters in Proverbs. These ten chapters were written by King Solomon. In these chapters Solomon writes about his proverbs, listening to wisdom's call, warnings against folly and adultery.

"Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence, rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind." Proverbs 8: 30-31 NIV

Day 23

Psalms 146-150

Today, I finish reading up Psalms. The writer of the last five chapters of Psalms was King David. In these last five chapters you have a praising of God for everything that is in life.

"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord." Psalms 150: 6 NIV

Proverbs 1-5

Today, I started reading in Proverbs. The writer of these five chapters was King Solomon. He wrote about the benefits of wisdom, a warning against sin and adultery for his children.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3: 5-6 NIV

Day 22

Psalms 136-145

Today, I read in Psalms. I will soon finish Psalms and move onto Proverbs. The memory verse that was chosen is one of my favorite verses in all of the Old Testament. The authors of these ten chapters were King David and an unnamed author of Psalms. In these ten chapters there is praises to God, a knowing that he will always look over us and he will protect us from our enemies.

"Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast." Psalms 139: 7-10 NIV

Day 21

Psalms 126-135

Today,  I continued diving into Psalms. The writers of these ten chapters was King David, King Solomon and some unnamed author's of some poems. These ten chapters praise God' s holy name and asks for his blessing for all of Israel.

"Praise the Lord, all your servants of the Lord who minister by night in the house of the Lord. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord. May the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion." Psalms 134 NIV

Day 20

Psalms 116-125

Today, I continued in my reading of Psalms. These next ten chapters were written by King David and some unnamed poems by some unnamed writers of Psalms. In these ten chapters you have praises to God and that he lets us follow in his footsteps.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." Psalms 119: 105 NIV

Day 19

Psalms 106-115

Today, I read the next ten chapters in Psalms. The author of these ten chapters was King David. These ten chapters praises God and asks why he has left us to wander in the wilderness.

"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." Psalms 107:1 NIV
